Minneapolis, MN

Old Town-in-Town Cooperative

This is the first set of stairs and porches to be replaced within a neighborhood cluster of five similar 125 year-old apartment buildings in the 9th Street South Historic District near downtown Minneapolis. The existing wooden stairs and porches were succumbing to dry rot and had become unsafe as well as unsightly. Designs for the new steel and cedar stairs and porches were approved by the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission in 2012 and this 1st project of five was completed in 2013.
