Barbeau Architects has established deep relationships along the North Shore of Minnesota's Lake Superior. Here, where the business of architecture and design meld with spectacular vistas and recreational diversions, we’ve successfully served our clients for over 15 years providing commercial architectural services.
On many of our projects we will collaborate with EnvironDesign, the Hovland-based firm skillfully guided by Richard J. Olson, CID, our strategic partner in this mission to provide the best in certified architectural, interior design, construction and development consulting services in the area.
Another Barbeau-Olson collaboration in downtown Grand Marais. This three-story retail store and outfitters building has a top floor owner's apartment with a rental apartment unit below, with windows to the east overlooking the shore of Lake Superior.
After Fall River Holding purchased the Superior Coastal Sports Building in early 2010, Barbeau-Olson re-collaborated to design an addition to the building and to re-image the property. One thousand square feet were added to bring the total retail area up to 3,600 SF. The top floor owner's apartment and the rental apartment unit below were finally completed to fulfill the new needs and original design vision.
